Hi!
We're heading down to Ft. Knox for Travis' Family Day/ Weekend this Thursday.
The map that was sent doesn't show the Olive Theater. Any tips on how to find it easily?

You also might ask at the gate as your being admitted. At least verify that the Google directions are correct anyway. They are usually right, but I've been thrown way off course by them sometimes too.

Also try this map (on the Army PX site) showing Olive Theater and other notable attractions. http://odin.aafes.com/conus_ner/ft_knox/map.htmLast summer, a similar question was asked about the availability of maps of Fort Knox. Seems like the Army doesn't like to post an official map of the post on the Internet (ie. the bullion depository?). When you check on to the Fort, ask the MP for a map. They have them readily available.

There will also be signs posted pointing you in the right direction. You'll want to get there early or maybe even the night before to get a pass for your car. Thats what we had to do for when we picked him up for exodus. I'll be down there this weekend as well for Mike's graduation! It's very easy to find. Have fun!

If we get there in the afternoon the day before, do we just go to the gate & state our business? I've never been on a military base before. Will the pass just speed up our entry for the next day then?

yes, got to the the visitors center at the main gate. you'll go in, state your business give them the registration and insurance information for the car. They'll give you a pass to put in your car. It will help things go quicker for you once you go to pick him up for family day. This was our experience anyway.

My son graduated at the Olive Theater at Fort Knox last year. Army Medic Dad's link to the address is the best. It depends on which entrance to the base you use. If you can find Wilson Road, you should be all set. If you are going north on Wilson Road you will pass the athletic fields on the right and it's on the right shortly after that. If you have the same map I did, it's located around A-8 on the map. All we had was the map they gave us and there were no signs. Good luck and enjoy the time with you son.
