Sherie, hope Daniel continues to recover. So sorry that he has had to go through that. I have talked to Seth a couple of times this week. He is back at his FOB for awhile, and I can stop worrying so much . Never thought I would say that since he is still in Afghan, but if he is at the FOB, I just feel he is safer. It has been so long since he has been there and not out on a mission. I am busy putting together a awesome Easter basket for him. His fiancee sent him a beautifully decorated Valentine box, so I have to send something great for Easter  . Seth has had a laptop and x-box die while he is there, so the sand must be brutal to them. Talked him out of buying another x-box, but did send him a new laptop. It finally arrived safe and sound. He really sounds good when I talk to him, and has beem promoted to SPC. Sometimes, I think he is doing a whole lot better with this than I am. It really seems like he has been gone forever, but we are all past the halfway point! Can't wait to be at green ramp to see our guys and gals come home!

I am a happy, happy, Mom tonight. Trey is home for R&R. :smt026 :smt026  We had thought it had been changed to April/May timeframe but he was able to get it switched back and called his Dad Monday from Kandahar to let him know he was coming home. He wanted to suprise me and his wife Lauren so he made his Dad promise not to let us know anything. He flew into Baton Rouge (where Lauren and her parents live) Wednesday night and they came to New Orleans last night. Tom took me to dinner and when we walked into the restaurant there they were! What a terrific surpirse! You can imagine how thrilled I am to have our boy home! He looks good but seems thinner to me so we have lots of cooking planned. They are downtown in the French Quarter tonight and plan to scout out a great restaurant for dinner and we're doing a cookout tomorrow before they go back to Baton Rouge tomorrow afternoon. Lauren has Culinary School classes that she can't miss so she'll be doing that during the day but that gives him a chance for some "down time" that I know he needs. We'll go up to Baton Rouge and send some time with them there and they'll come back to New Orleans probable next weekend before he has to go back. Boy will I sleep well tonight knowing he's home!

Susan - so happy that Trey made it home. Enjoy all of the time you can with him!!

Cindi - proud of Seth and his promotion. Glad things are going well for him.

Daniel is still in Kandahar - sees doctors again tomorrow. still having headaches but I think he is about ready to return to his unit and just see what happens. I know he is a little worried since now he realizes what could happen - so I will just have to pray even more and trust the Lord.

Greetings to all of you who I have not really talked to - hope your Soldiers and families are doing well. prayers continue for all of us and our Soldiers.

Got to talk to Daniel on facebook this morning. He saw a neurologist on Monday who changed his medicines. He said he was feeling better - slept better the past 2 nights and only had a slight headache. We are so thankful!! He will remain in Kandahar until Tuesday when he sees the doctor again; he feels like he will probably be returned to duty at that time if things continue as they have for the past 2 days. Never thought I would be glad to have him injured but at least I know he has not been in combat for the past 3 weeks. I don't see how Danny and I can worry anymore than we have since we got THAT phone call but guess we will start again.

Hope each of you and your Soldiers are well. Hope those home on R & R are enjoying every minute. Give your loved one a hug and thanks from me.

At least we are slowly getting closer to the summer. I am ready to bring them home!!

prayers continue for all.

I forgot to give ya'll the good news. We bought a wedding dress for Lindsey, our daughter, while in North Carolina over the week-end. It was beautiful and she was thrilled. We were glad to get that behind us!!

I haven't been on here in a while either and when I read your post Sherie about Daniel being injured, my heart just stopped! I can only imagine what you have been going through and how that must have been to get a call like that. I'm so thankful that he is going to be okay and I will continue to pray every single day for his safety and for the safety of all our Soldiers. Glad you have some good news too. I bet the dress in beautiful!

Cindi, Congratulations on Seth's promotion and Susan, I'm so happy for you now that Trey is home for his R&R. And what a surprise! I can imagine the scream that probably was heard in that restaurant when you saw him. How exciting!!

James is doing good in Iraq. I haven't talked to him much lately but he does manage to get on facebook a few times a week. His birthday is Saturday and I mailed a pkg with homemade cookies, rice krispy treats, beef jerky, and a nerf football. He wants his windows tinted on his truck so I plan to have that done for his birthday before he gets home in August. I, like all of you, will be so glad when this deployment is over. I miss him so much!!

Sherie, so glad that Daniel continues to improve. That is one call that all of us fear to receive. I did talk to Seth this AM. He has been moved, and I have no idea where he is right now. I hate that, I need to know at least a vicinity. He seems to be doing well, and I am taking a ribbon off the flagpole everyday. We are 19 ribbons off since halfway. When that last ribbon comes off, we are headed to Ft. Bragg for a big hug. August can't come soon enough!

Hello to all Ft. Bragg families. I have not posted for awhile either. My son arrived in Haiti the first week in February and is scheduled to return the end of March. We have been able to talk to him almost everyday. The phone service is not the great. They are starting to receive some hot meals now and have some electricity. Still living in tent city and the temps are down alittle now. 3 weeks ago he would rather have been in Iraq (so he said). We are able to send packages, which helps.

Prayers to Sherie for your son Daniel. Keep the Faith!

Susan enjoy your visit with Trey.

Stay strong!

Trey left yesterday morning to return to Astan. I can't believe how hard it was to see him leave. It was hard on him too. He really, really hated leaving Lauren again. Anyway, I just got a text message from him and he's already in Kuwait - that seems like some fast traveling! I'm just glad we only have 5 more months to go for this deployment and then we're done! Yeah!

Glad to know that most of us seem to be hearing from our boys. My prayers for all of them and all of our famlies.
