My son went in Dec. 29th 2009. Never heard a word from him for 2 weeks and now he writes all the time. My son too has a little trouble with the spelling. Nothing has been said about it to me nor him. He writes telling me that things get hard at times but all is well and he is enjoying it. I have to read his letters slowly due to his mis-spelling. In truth I don't care, I just love to hear from him.

Thinking about ya son!

A minor point. Your son is in D Troop. The Cav uses troops. The rest of the Army uses companies. It is Cav tradition.
